Menopause Management
Menopause marks the end of menstrual cycles, typically occurring between ages 45–55. The hormonal changes associated with menopause can produce a range of symptoms that vary in severity. Structured management can significantly improve quality of life during this transition.
Common Symptoms
- Hot flushes and night sweats
- Mood changes, irritability and sleep disturbance
- Vaginal dryness and urogenital symptoms
- Decreased bone density (osteoporosis risk)
- Changes in skin and hair
- Weight changes and metabolic shifts
Evaluation & Treatment
Evaluation includes hormonal profiling (FSH, oestradiol), thyroid function assessment, bone density screening (DEXA scan referral) and cardiovascular risk assessment. Treatment options range from lifestyle modifications and calcium/vitamin D supplementation to hormone replacement therapy (HRT) where appropriate and clinically indicated.
Each treatment plan is discussed transparently, weighing benefits against risks based on individual health history.
